The other ores will not be equally as profitable until you have max skills and fleet bonus. Mining for Isk you time is best spent mining Veld and scordite with the set up you mentioned. this has the added benefit of yielding the more expensive minerals as well. and yes I have all TII crystals in my hulk and max refining. I get more trit per hour from omber, pyroxers and Plag than I do veld. The math on the surface may not support Veld but as you mine more units per weight it seems a likely choice. Personally I use fleet boosts with an orca and mine the entire belt of all ore and refine it at a station where I have 0 take. In using average skills and devoid of fleet boost with the equipment mentioned you will be better off mining kernite in Hi sec than Jaspet in low. Reliant on station refine %, Tax rate (standings affect this) and your refining skills. You also have to consider you refine ability. Veldspar has more units per m3 than Kernite witch has more units per m3 than jaspet. This is dependent on skill, equipment used, and weight of the ore. M3 per cycle and cycles per minute will give you the base yield Isk per hour is dependent on several variables. Oh, and don't forget to add into your equations, that in high sec, using an orca booster/hauler will enhance your mining abilities by being able to mine more and haul less, as well as the orca bonusses( and less risk for the orca pilot, so he can use his mining foreman mindlink for another extra 5% yield :) )ĭefining the issue in the only way to find the answers. ( you need 8000 kernite for the mission ) You know you got a missioner buying your ore when you see them buying in multiples of 8000. ( like 200% of what the minerals are worth ridiculous )) I've made quite a bit of money in gallente space by mining kernite in grav sites and selling it in storyline mission stations at ridiculous prices. EVE Online and the EVE logo are the registered. Station Sell Buy Jita: Amarr: Rens: Dodixie: Hek: Maila. Raw Materials Standard Ores Omber Inventory Groups Asteroid Omber Omber. Selling it as ore in storyline hubs is a good way of making a little more money than the minerals are worth, if you got the haulage to move it as such instead of refining it. Omber is a common ore that is still an excellent ore for novice miners as it has a sizeable portion of Isogen, as well as some Pyerite. Turning it down does nothing for your standings. What the person that mentioned moving the kernite as ore was talking about is that Kernite(regular) is also used for a level 4 storyline mission (Materials for war preparation). Agree with the above quoted post that we need more storylines though - there only seem to be like half a dozen at each level. There are definitely more interesting and involving missions that could be done requiring you to actually mine something at the time. When I get this travesty of a storyline mission I just either shuttle or pod it over, complete the mission, and fly back. the 2 part Against the Slavers level 3 has 8 50k unit Omber roids) and mine them, then just store the ore at the storyline station. Usually with these, I look out for the relevant roids in the regular missions (e.g. And faction standing is a bugger to get up if you lose it in chunks. If you refuse it, you lose standing - it's not like a regular mission where you get the one-time in 4 hours refusal option. Problem is, this mission is a storyline, not a regular mission. I do agree that this mission could use a review or we need more storyline missions so this mission comes up less often. If the mission isn't worth it you could refuse it. Please, do something to bring this mission in line with its peers. The mission's ISK payout usually doesn't cover this cost, so if it weren't for the implant, you'd actually be losing money doing this mission. Especially if you're Caldari, since the level three ore (Omber) only spawns in high-sec Gravimetric sites and the level four ore (Kernite) doesn't appear outside Caldari low-sec. You'd think with the war going on they'd value your efforts a little more.ģ) It usually requires you to buy your minerals. I believe a level two 'kill' storyline mission gives more faction standings than the level four version of Materials for War Preparation. Corp, agent, and mission level do not seem to make a difference in its frequency.Ģ) Its standings gains are pathetic. I've gotten it at least six times in a row one corpmate has an ongoing streak of 11. What issue could possibly arise from one single mission? A couple, actually:ġ) It seems to be at least five times as common as every other storyline put together. Materials for War Preparation, as I'm sure many of you know, is one of the storyline missions you can get.
